While we're at it: some more important artists that deserve mention:
Paul Meyer. Records for Denon. Great performances
Eduard Brunner. Has recorded heaps of works, a lot of them for Tudor.
Thea King. She has a series of recordings with Hyperion (15 CDs) with
lots of interesting works for clarinet; not the run of the mill
standard repertoire.

Rebecca--
Some of the outstanding clarinetists are the following:
Karl Leister (Teldec, Camerata, Orfeo)
Dieter Klocker (MDG, Acanta, Orfeo), also featured with Consortium
Classicum
Hans Rudolf Stadler
Walter Boykens (Harmonia Mundi)
Sabine Meyer (EMI)
David Shifrin (Delos)
Charles Neidich (DG)
Richard Stoltzman (RCA)
Michael Colllins (CRD, EMI)
Janet Hilton (Chandos)
Emma Johnson (ASV)
ETC.
There are too many good recordings to recommend, so I have identified
the major record lables in (). Please note that recording on the MDG,
Orfeo, and other imported labels tend to be expensive --$17.99 and up.
Many of the Harmonia Mundi recordings by Walter Boykens are now being
re-released at mid-price ($approximately $11.99).
