Barbara, the key mechanisms are constantly out of adjustment on almost
every bass clarinet. You cannot lay the blame at the feet of LeBlanc
and Selmer but rather to (a) the long keys present on a b.c., (2)
the qualifications of whomsoever was using it and who may have
put it in misadjustment carelessly.

You have bought a fine instrument in your selection of a Buffet, but in
doing so you should not assume that the experience at your school is
either typical of LeBlanc and Selmers exclusively or anything
abnormal. It is almost akin to saying that you fly only Boing 747s
because the DC10s flown by Continental are frequently late.
