I thought it was the panicked feeling one got when one realized
that all eight reeds one has had in various stages of preparation
have simultaneously mutated into something amazingly reminiscent of
southern style green beans (without what little taste remains after
you cook a green bean for 7 hours) on the eve of:
1. a lesson
2. an ensemble concert in which you have a prominent solo
3. a duet performance
4. a recital
The odds of this happening are directly proportional to:
a. the number of events in the above list occurring in the next
three days
and/or
b. the number of weeks your next box of reeds is back-ordered.
