I can't remember if this topic was raised on FLUTE or KLARINET. My apologies
to everyone for having not kept a better account of my messages. Someone
posted that Arrowbear Music Camp in California has a bit of a religious slant,
that people can get "two services for one", as it were.

Were that the case, this old agnostic would be very displeased. Fred
Ohlendorf's primary statement of faith to all of us was that young people
making beautiful music together is a good thing.

So I wrote to Fred's daughter who helps to maintain the Arrowbear Web page
and asked her if the camp has been "born again". She replied that it has no
more of a religious slant now than when I was a camper between 1955 and 1957.
It is true that we sang grace as a round before lunch and dinner and the
campers still do so in memory of Fred, but other than that there is no
religious message.

I apologize again for posting this reply to both lists.
