The author was William H. Stubbins, Univ. of Mich (?, perhaps).

Noblet featured his "S-K" mechanism on their model 245 later 24O in the
50's and early 60's.

I own a Stubbins Noblet. It is a very nice-sounding instrument. Since I
am relatively new to the clarinet, I find most of my Throat tone
problems are "north of the mouthpiece".
