Just yesterday, I heard Mark Brandenburg play at a recital at my
university. He, currently is my clarinet instructor at the university of
California, Santa Cruz. If you are a Bay Area native, you might know him.
He plays in several of the major symphonies around here. Well, anyway, I
thought that he played remarkably well, considering the difficulty of the
literature, Lutoslowski, dance preludes; Shostakovich waltzes, and the
Romances by Schumann. He sounded and looked very effortless in his
playing.
Also, he teaches, very well. Some of his characteristics is that he is
patient, and pushes me at the right speed. Anybody out there, wanting to
hear a clarinetest play or take clarinet lessons, I would recomend him.
He is remarkable!:)
