Don't forget about Harry Begian and the Detroit Cass Tech band. Later he
went to Michigan State University (after Leonard Falcone) then later
University of Illinois. I think he is one of the finest band conductors
alive today. Even though he used scare tactics!!! He is one of the last
"old school" conductors. He lives in Hubbard Lake Michigan (20 miles from
me). Regarding Revelli and his high school bands, then later the
University of Michigan... Untouchable.
