Bull. . .all I was saying is that without decent technique and rhythm, your
career is nowhere. People may be born MUSICAL, but they aren't born
MUSICIANS. The hypothetical technician with no musical sense may never
develop beyond the 2nd clarinetist stage of expressive capability, but
he/she's got a lot more chance than someone who can't play the instrument,
regardless of musical intuition. You may not like it, but no one wants to
hear squeaks and squauks! Put the technician in with a good mentor in a
professional situation, and that professional sense of musicianship will grow
(most of the time).
