On this one I must strongly disagree. Imagine someone playing through one of
the Brahms sonatas, playing all the notes, rhythms and dynamics just the way
they're written and doing it all with no sense of line, or RUBATO at all.
Could you imagine this?? I, and many others I'm sure, have heard things like
this all too many times at concerts in some of the most well known concert
halls, and I can't STAND IT!! So I must submit that all good clarinetists are
NOT good musicians. Enough said.
