Clare - A chair is considered a poor ergonomic match to its "owner"
if the person can't put their feet flat on the floor (and is linked
to back problems - certainly a consideration in light of your
comment). Is there any chance of getting a chair which is at a
proper height for you or a foot rest (surprisingly, there are many
good foot rests (adjustable and aesthetically acceptable) listed in
office supply store catalogues since most office furniture was
originally designed solely for men and women generally don't "fit" it
well). It is not ergonomically "acceptable" to just allow your feet
dangle - if you find it necessary to educate the conductor, I think I
can find some medical references for you - just email me privately
and I'll see what I can find.
