When my instrument cracked while attending school at Arizona State, I
was advised by both Dr. Spring and master technician Bill Brannen to
superglue my instrument. The crack was not through a tone hole. My
advice would be to speak to someone about your specific situation. I
know the answer varies depending on the severity of the problem. Also, if
superglue is used, Brannen does recommend a particular brand that works
well on wood.
