Hello Mr. Lacy,
I just wanted to say thank you for your informative message about
college auditions. I, myself, used to get worked up over a little
mistake at an audition and it would affect the rest of my audition,
however, that has all changed. I now feel that the person or people
doing the audition look for the overall musicianship in the individual.
This was exactly the case when I auditioned for the New York Youth
Symphony. I had a few mistakes, however, I still received the principal
position. It's funny how I had the idea engraved into my brain that an
audition has to be totally perfect. I do now, especially more now with
your "inspiration," enjoy myself at auditions.
Thanks a lot!
