I totally agree with your assessment of Rubank. I use the Collis books
with some students (privately). They do move quickly, but contain good
musical stuff, that also presents technical challenges. Try books 3+ for
intermediate through high school. They are pricey. Another great book,
at a better price, is David Hites Melodious and Progressive Studies,
Book 1 for Clarinet. My students will all get to this book, if they
stick it out! I start Rose etudes after this book.

I'm sorry, are you teaching privately? It was not clear to me. Just
curious.
