i collect metal clarinets as a hobby. i also refurbish them so that they
are as good as new. they play the same as other clarinets. i have a
cavalier and it is a good instrument. most metal clarinets are
substantially lighter in weight than other clarinets. the bore is
cylindrical rather than conical. if your father would like to speak
