The woodwind quintet I'm playing in randomly grabbed a piece called "Clown
Music", by Theresa Procaccini, out of the library. For some odd reason, the
soprano clarinet part has several too-low E-flat/D-sharps written. I have
several questions:

1. What's up with that?

2. Is it a bad sign that the composer didn't bother to check the ranges of
the instruments?

3. Has anyone ever played this piece?

3a. If so, did you play up an octave, or did you play another note in the
chord?

Thanks,

-Harlan
