I haven't found any reference in the archives to a registry for
stolen clarinets, nor to a policy on announcements about them
on this list, so I'll post this and see what happens.

A promising young clarinetist had his pair of Selmer Recital
clarinets stolen in Manhattan this summer. They are a Bb, serial
number M3760, and an A, for which the S/N has been temporarily
misplaced (but it starts with "E").

The A clt has been modified in a distinctive way: Guy Chadash cut
away the crow's foot under the right-hand F#/C# touch, and
farther down, near the pads, brazed on an extra piece with a
screw adjustment to replace the crow's foot's function. I got a
description of this thing over the phone, so I hope I described
it correctly.

The pair of clarinets were in the original Selmer gray
light-weight case, with a B45 Lyre mouthpiece, a Guy Chadash
barrel, and a "very fat" Howarth barrel.
