I can't tell you anything about that one, but my first clarinet (a long
time ago - probably around 1957) was a Fontaine made of wood (plastic was
only beginning to be popular for entry level instruments). It was pretty
much the equivalent of a Bundy or an Evette (basically a Buffet E-11) or
Vito or any of the other beginner instruments that are still around. And,
BTW, it IS now a lamp in my music room - it was the first victim of my
early experiments in clarinet repair and became unplayable as a result.
