Dan,
The instruments are basically colector's items except among folk
music players, who would be VERY interested in, especially, the C
clarinet. Pawn shops generally have no idea what they have so they
routinely price things over twice as much as they are willing to
eventually accept. Try bargaining with them. Offer them 1/3 of their price
(in cash! - they love that) and see what kind of offer they come back
with. I'll bet they thought these were regular clarinets and saw the name
Buffet, looked it up, and payed alot of money. So now they are asking
alot. If this is the case, wait a few months. eventually they will realize
that they screwed up and they will be amenable to a reasonable offer.
