While I've seen it done, I don't teach that, because most of my pupils =
are 8 or 9 years old, and I find that they tend to just push the barrel =
and mouthpiece on without twisting as they do so (possibly because by the=
time they've got the instrument resting on their knee, the top is much =
higher than is a comfortable reach for them), and 1) put extra stress on =
the cork, and 2) use cork grease less often than necessary because they =
can't feel the level of greasing as well as when they twist it on. Just =
my observation, FWIW.
