RE the postings on bass clarinet transposition etc:

Orchestral players & fine pianists who are solid & facile at transposition
have a great secret: "transposition is easy" -- It is not a matter of
special talent - it is an issue of training.

To the point - given the chatter here about transposition - I found a
handout once made for a clinic...which reviews the issue rather fully.

It can be read at:
http://www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~museyadz/xpose.html

The page also links to essays on
"Sightreading - a Performer's Best Friend"
"Practice..? Life is too short..!"
etc. etc. etc.

All of it a bit long-winded - but may be helpful & encouraging to some.

Cheers
Yadz
