I have this problem. I have had a new R-13 for two weeks now. No,
matter how much cork grease I put on the middle joint, the two pieces get
stuck together.

Laura,
Have a repair man look at it and determine if the corks need sanding, or if
the wood needs to be sanded. Go to a competent repair tech. You don't want
any wobbling joints.
