I might as well put my $.02 in for the Luyben Ligature. Stil the cheapest
one on the market and, for me, the best. It gives a VERY free-blowing feel
to the reed by letting the reed vibrate alot, unlike some like the Rovner
which damp down many of the frequencies. It especially frees up the high
frequencies so if you like a lively, 'bright' sound like I do, it is a
ligature for you.
