Currently, my English class is studying Edgar Allan Poe and four of his
selected works. Our grade on the unit depends on the creation of a
"House of Poe" at the end of the semester. One of the stories were are
studying is "The Masque of the Red Death," in which there is a ballroom
scene, a scene which we intend to recreate in our "House of Poe".

One of the things I am responsible for is getting together with some of
the other students to perform the music to incorporate into the ballroom
scene. Since I am best friends with another very talented clarinetist,
and a couple other friends also play clarinet, I was hoping to get an
ensemble together to perform.

Finally, my question: any suggestions on some sinister, ominous,
Poe-like duets, trios or quartets. As far as difficulty goes, I would
prefer the quartets not to be too challenging, as we don't really have
the depth to cover four hard parts, however the duets and trios would
probably be manageable at a much higher level.

I really appreciate your help, as I don't know many of the pieces that
have been mentioned on earlier threads, and I want to make sure that the
stuff we track down and order is appropriate to the mood required by the
content of the project.
