The YCL-SE(A) was designed by Kadzuo Fujii of Japan to his
specifications.
I talked to Mr. Fujii at ClarinetFest in Lubbock this year; he spent
quite a bit of time working with the Yamaha people getting the sound
he wanted out of the horn. The bore and tapers are based on the CX
series but have been modified to make it freer
blowing.
