I heard Rudolh Kolish perform several times with the Pro Arte Quartet (I
believe it was originally called the Kolish Quartet. My understanding was
that he had injured his left hand and then had his violin restrung and
learned to play with his bow in his left hand. He came here from Europe
during W.W. 2 and I'm not sure if he was injured in the war or not but he
certainly played "left-handed violin" beutifully, plus the quartet looked
very balanced, with him playing that way and the 2nd violin playing
"right-handed."
