Frank,

Funny you should ask this question, as I asked the same thing a bit earlier.
There are alternate fingerings (multiphonics) which should be used. Here is
an earlier posting from Paolo Ravaglia who has spoken with Berio about this
particular problem. Should you wish to have them notated... you can purchase
the music but make sure you get the version with the WHITE COVER. The green
cover has multiphonics written for a clarinet with a low e-flat key. Good
luck, it's a terrific piece.
