If the Weber "Grand Duo Concertante" and the Brahms "Sonatas" are the
"flashy" encores, I wonder what would be on the main program -- a couple
of transcribed Mahler symphonies perhaps? ;^) (Seriously, either of the
two Horovitz "Majorcan Dances" would make a great encore. Or how about
one of the Lutoslawski "Dance Preludes"? If there are kids in the
audience, "Walking in the Air" from Blake's suite from "The Snowman"
might be a good choice. Emma Johnson has recorded two CD's of encores
on ASV. They might be a good starting point.)
