Since I'm living in Germany my teacher plays of course the german
system. But I play a Boehm clarinet. He says he finds the french sound
thin, and only likes it in more modern or contemporary music,
e. g. Shostakovich sypmhonies. But he admits that some fingerings on
the Boehm are easier.

Does someone know which system is played (preferred) in Russia? Boehm,
German, or Reform Boehm (German Boehm). Since I have some recordings
of the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orch. (former Leningrad Philharmonic
Orch.) which I like, I would like to know, but cannot decide this
question by just hearing (who can?).

Greetings
Dirk
