I just spent some time in Salzburg and every clarinet I saw (and I
looked at the Vienna Phil, the Mozarteum Orchestra, and a third
group) had all clarinetists on Oehler systems.

But one of the most important clarinet teachers in Germany, Eddie
Brunner, professor at the Hochschule in Munich is a Boehm
player. He is not German. He is Swiss, but he was first in
the Munich Phil, so there must be a slight relaxation in the
requirement that was so notorious 10 years ago. Then, the
advertisements in the newspaper were very explicit in stating
that no one who plays French system need apply for German
orchestral positions. I think the same is true in the Netherlands
but I have not been there for a few years so I am not sure.
