I use a Greg Smith Eb mouthpiece, serial number 04 (!) that was actually
made by Richard Hawkins. The last ones I tried (Hawkins makes his own
now...doesn't do Smith's) were not very good....but Hawkins still makes
them....and can be contacted at Interlochen. His mouthpieces are
exceptional! The sharp below and flat above thing exists mostly with the
lesser quality instruments....but the mouthpiece makes an enormous
differnece.

I like cornets in a band too! Don't hear them much anymore though.
