I use a Konig & Meyer bassoon/bass clarinet stand. This is very stable and
portable. It folds into the size of a music stand. The one thing is that
the base cup (where the peg rests) is meant for a bassoon bottom. What I
did was insert a plastic end piece from a mailing tube - it looks like a
small bowl, 2 inches wide and 1/2 inch deep - into the base cup on the
stand. It fits perfectly and works. I've been using it this way for the
last 5 years.
