As a kidlet, I raised parakeets as a hobby (and for profit). One of my
house birds (Petey) loved the sound of the clarinet. He'd perch on my
glasses whilst I was practicing away, and do some wonderful warbling
(generally in tune). However, he had one rather bad habit that should
have shortened his alloted time on Earth. If I left my clarinet on the
table w/o the cap, he'd chew the reeds with relish (or catsup, or
mustard....). I once left half a box of Vandorens on a glass plate.
Petey distroyed ALL of them with gusto! Right before an important solo
appearance. Damn him!!
I could have strangled the little bugger, but I didn't. Now I would!
That's why I now have a cat. Missy hates the sound of the clarinet.
Always runs under the bed (Gads, what a critic!).
