I made my own bass clarinet stand out of vinyl-covered tool hook, a block
of wood, and electrical clamp, and a microphone stand. It cost me
one-third of what a regular bass clarinet stand runs, and served me well as
I switched between bass clarinet and bari sax in the pit for "Barnum."
Plus I now have a microphone stand in case I ever need it.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
