Which is the very reason I bought a stand to keep my clarinet
on when I'm not using it. A $10.00 investment. I'm *sure*
it's kept me from sitting on it (or rolling off my chair
onto the floor).

Also, I keep my clarinet assembled & ready to use on that
stand. That way, if the mood strikes me, I'll pick it up
and practice for a few minutes, even if it's not my "practice
time". The corks might wear a bit more that way, but the
corks are cheap, and I play it more often.
