Was the instructor frustratated and angry at the student? If so,
teachers try to motivate students' confidence and something like this can
make a student frustrated. Possibly explaining to the student what was
wrong with the reed, and try to fix it first. It should be thrown away as
a last option. It is at least $2.00 a reed.
