A very workable solution for cleaning mouthpieces that was taught to me by
Jay DeVries is to 1) brush your teeth before playing 2) after playing pull a
"kleenex" tissue through the mouthpiece one time (1 piece only, roll up a
corner to stick it through from the exit bore up through the window) and 3)
[my addition] once a year use a mouthpiece brush in lukewarm soapy water
followed by a rinse in fresh water.

I have never had a stinky mouthpiece nor have I witnessed anything growing
inside by using this method.
