Subj: Is there an M13 Lyre?
Date: Tue, 16 Sep 1997 03:02:53 -0400

I just began private lessons, and my teacher instructed me to get a
mouthpiece to replace my cheap and generic one. A more advanced student I was
practicing with told me my teacher would want me to get a Vandoren M13.
However, my teacher specified an M13 Lyre.

I would, of course, go with what my teacher had said, except for the fact
that the Woodwind catalog seemed to indicate there was no such thing. That is,
it acknowledged the M13 mouthpiece, and lyre versions of some other Vandoren
mouthpieces, but no M13 Lyre.

So I guess my question is, is there such a mouthpiece? And what difference
does the "lyre" part make anyway?

Thanks,

Michael Connolly
