It is my understanding that they really don't love him! I have heard from
more than a few friends in the orchestra that there is strong sentiment
against. However....every orchestral performer has a list of conductors
that they would like to see doing something else for a living...outside of
music! I am sure there are many who do like his work in Chicago. His
piano playing is quite good....perhaps better than his conducting?
