Yo, 'glinch --

I believe what these folks are referring to is that fact that your
messages (and those of one or two others as well) arrive with lots
and lots and lots of apparently nonsensical attachments, likely
because your mail application is speaking something that at least
some (perhaps most) other mail readers do not understand, or care to.
The problem here is, to be charitable, that they don't add much to
the Klarinet list. In fact to us they seem to clutter up the
digests. Some of us would consider it a kindness if those of you
could, when you post messages to the Klarinet list, try to see
whether there's some sort of "plain email" option in your
mail-reader.

I hope I am (we are) not being intrusive or demanding in asking this
-- it's questionable whether it's a good idea to post even encoded
GIFs (some of us remember that perpetually bouncing one from a year
or so ago) but unless I'm missing something, the attachment encoding
doesn't add anything to the content of messages. I hasten to add
that if you were reading your posts as we do I'm sure you would
understand.
