My appetite has been duly whetted by the trailers for this on BBC
Radio 3. I enjoy Colin Lawson's discs -- it'll be interesting to hear
him speak.

Return of the series investigating music and musicians in
certain periods of history. Brahms was tempted out of
retirement when he heard the playing of clarinettist Richard
Muhlfeld, described by Liszt as `biting into a ripe
peach'. George Pratt talks about the clarinet in the 19th
century with Colin Lawson, who also performs Brahms's Clarinet
Sonata in F minor on a copy of Muhlfeld's clarinet. With Peter
Hill (piano)
