Please excuse my total ignorance, but I hope one of the many experts on this
list can help me out. Rather than waste bandwidth here, please respond
directly to my e-mail address: d-grouch@-----.net

A local individual has advertised a "Buffet Professional" clarinet for sale.
I called and asked about the specific model. The owner had no idea what I
meant, said that the instrument was purchased new about 4 years ago and used
little since then. The owner also said that the only marking on the
instrument was a label, "Buffet Crampon Paris".

I asked about a serial number, the owner had no idea what I was talking
about. I explained where it was probably located and after a bit of a
search the owner found the numbers "335654" on the upper and lower joints.

So my question is, what specific model of Buffet is this? How does one
determine this? From things I read there appear to, at present, be about 8
different "R-13" Buffets, each a "Model 11xx". Then there appear to be the
"E" series and the "B". So where, if anywhere, does one search for the
markings that identify the specific model.

Thanks for any available enlightenment.
