Well, I think that people are right not to want to change clefs if they
don't have to. The bottom line to me is really: why?

It seems to me that mere logic would dictate the higer voices put in the
higher clef (treble) and the lower voices in the lower clef (bass).
Alto and tenor are useful, but not really to us. Bassoons, saxaphones,
and other mid-range instruments may find them useful, but to us they
really don't do much good, other than for the lower register, which
really isn't that problematic when it comes to the issue of ledger
lines.

Why fix it when it ain't broke?

P.S. It's certainly not a naive question!

Quote of the Day:

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to
begin--real life. But there was always some obstacle in the
way, something to be got through first, some unfinished
business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then
life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these
obstacles were my life." -Fr. Alfred D'Souza
