What do you base your opinion on? Have you done carefully controlled
scientific experiments? Or have you read of some others that have been
done?

Basing your opinion on a line of reasoning such as:

A. I have played some wood clarinets, and they sounded good.
B. I have played some plastic clarinets, and they sounded bad.

C. Therefore, it was the plastic that made them sound bad.

is not a very useful way of forming an opinion.
