Dan,

This evening I will be playing second clarinet with the Topanga Symphony
which is performing Schubert 7, Rossini's Theme and Variations for Clarinet
and Small Orchestra, and the premiere of "Topanga Symphony" composed by the
conductor, Jerome Kessler. Normally I would have used my C and A clarinets
for the Schubert, and my Bb for the Rossini and the Kessler. However,
because the Clarinet II parts are neither that demanding, nor that high in
pitch, and because the conductor will probably not notice that I've switched
horns, I've decided to play the parts on my Bb bass clarinet (I can't afford
an alto).
