This thing is not about a better fit or not. I've done a little research,
and I found out that mainly people from Holland use the name soprano
clarinet. It is so logical, why don't you go with this. I've asked some
great clarinet players, some great musicians,... and I am going to double
check with my Music Theory teacher and Dr. Robert Spring.

Concerning the other instruments that use multiple clefs, the normal
clarinet actually is a soprano clarinet, so why would a soprano clarinet
use another clef than the soprano?

The reason why other clarinets (alto, A,...) are not in another clef is
probably because of the lazyness of clarinetists, as someone said before.
