Jeremy,

I am completely unfamiliar with this problem andwhen I saw this message I
became very curious about why I had never heard of or experienced it. I
put my hand in position on the clarinet joint and discovered that my
index finger stayed very close to both keys. Perhaps your problem is
caused by by your hand position, and you could try just keeping your
wrist and fingers lower to begin with.
