Don,

I left out a few significant details. Part of the bell had chipped away,
so I had that filled in, and the original barrel was missing. (I had paid
one dollar for this Buffet at a Good Will resale shop.) I put on an extra
Buffet barrel I had in a gadget box, but I doubt if its the correct length
for a C clarinet. I did give some thought to having the clarinet fixed up,
and it could still be done. Pardon me for congratulating myself on my deft
removal of the nail, which created no additional damage and left a nice,
clean nail-hole. I must admit I did a good job. At any rate, the Buffet C
clarinet Albert system lamp has sentimental value to me, and I don't want
to part with it, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's not for sale. We
all know that *everything* is for sale.
