Clarinet is a great instrument to begin on because the basics are easy,
but try telling most serious amateurs or _any_ professionals it's easy
and they'll probably laugh at you! In my opinion, unlike many other wind
instruments, clarinet only gets harder as you go on. :-) But it's a lot
more fun than the other instruments, too. There are a few lucky people
for whom clarinet is easy, but they are the exceptions, not the trend. I
sometimes wish I was one of them, but sometimes I think the successes are
all the more rewarding because I really have to work for them.
