OKay! Here is my 2 cents for whatever it is worth. As far as the Rose
etudes and studies, I have to disagree on a few things. I have used
both the Hite edition and the Carl Fischer edition and I still find the
Fischer edition better. That is not to say that the Hite edition is
wrong but I just feel that there are too many musical markings in the
text. While I was at CCM, I was told to do whatever I had to do to make
it sound the way I wanted it to sound. To me, that was a good concept
into learning how to be musical and interpret things differently. I
just feel that the Hite edition puts too much in front of clarinetists
and doesn't help with phrasing. Just my opinion!
