True, Roger. But, while Hite includes a few markings, there isn't a
whole lot more in there than opposed to the Carl Fisher editions. Most
of what he has is just common sense anyway. Couldn't a teacher tell a
student to disregard or amend some markings the teacher finds in poor
taste?

I think we'll all agree that the Rose etudes have a place in a
clarinetist's course of study, so why not get all of them in one book
for both practicality of not lugging around 3 books verses one, and
economics: $12.50 for one as opposed to $20-30 for three.

Incidently, I think that seeing markings first may be the guidance a
player needs to foster good interpretational skills later. In the end I
agree that "earboundness" is better, but it may be helpful to give a
student some sort of model first.
